Participants of the Astana's first Remembrance Sunday.

Astana's first Remembrance Sunday (organised by the Defence Section of the British Embassy) took place at the city's war memorial on Manas Street 09 November 2009

Remembrance Day is on 11 November. It is a special day set aside to remember all those men and women who were killed during the two World Wars and other conflicts.

Persons with disabilities in Kazakhstan: employment and job placement problem 08 October 2009

A round-table meeting devoted to the problems of employment and job placement of persons with disabilities in the light of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities will be hold in Astana on 9 October.

On 9-10 October the interactive seminar on electoral law for students of Almaty universities is to be held in Al-Farabi Kazakh National University 30 September 2009

The aim of the seminar is the active involvement of students in the social and political processes that take place in our country, through the training on the electoral law.

Participants of the Second International Sulphur Conference, Kazakhstan Energy Week, Astana

On 22 September the Second International Sulphur Conference: Legal Framework and Industrial Applications will take place in Astana 18 September 2009

The British Government has already worked closely with Kazakhstan in support of such activities such as sharing of knowledge and experience in trading and utilising sulphur.

Run for charity 14 September 2009

On 26 September in Astana the British-Kazakh Society together with Astana Mayor's Office will organise a 7k charity run.

Today is the first day of the official visit of the UK’s Minister for Europe Baroness Glenys Kinnock to Kazakhstan 06 September 2009

The visit will provide an opportunity to exchange views on key global challenges prior to the Kazakhstan's historic Chairmanship of the OSCE in 2010.

Steppe Eagle 2008

Exercise STEPPE EAGLE takes place this year on the Illisky training Area about 40km north east of Almaty in the south of the country 27 August 2009

The aim of the exercise is to train and assess KAZBRIG, which consists of a Brigade HQ штаб бригады and 2 infantry battalions, in its ability to conduct Peace Support Operations, working within a multinational framework.

International experts launch Energy Efficiency workshops across Kazakhstan in September 20 August 2009

They will engage with Kazakh business leaders in five different regions during one day workshops to discuss overcoming barriers to the successful implementation of energy efficient solutions.
