On 9-10 October 2009, the interactive seminar on electoral law for students of Almaty universities is to be held in Al-Farabi Kazakh National  University, Almaty. The event is organised by Kazakhstan Association of International Law with support from the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of the joint project, funded by the British Embassy Astana and the United Nations Development Programme in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan Association of International Law is one of the NGOs that has received grant from the British Embassy and UNDP to increase the electoral activity of citizens of Kazakhstan. Project Manager is Sapargaliyev Gairat Sapargalievich - Academic, Doctor of Juridical Science, professor, honored lawyer of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The aim of the seminar is the active involvement of students in the social and political processes that take place in our country, through the training on the electoral law. Debates, interactive games, polls and brainstorming exercises will be used in the course of the seminar.

Young people will get basic knowledge of electoral law. Participants of the seminar will be awarded by certificates, and distinguished participants will get special prizes.

The radio-quiz programme on electoral law was conducted recently. The competition for best students’ work on electoral law is scheduled to take place this month and a computer programme for testing on electoral law will be worked out and presented within the framework of the project.
