Where to apply

Application for full 10 year passport can be submitted to British Embassy Office Almaty. However please note we cannot print these passports locally as they are referred to Moscow for processing and usually this takes up five weeks.  But the British Embassy in Moscow is currently experiencing technical difficulties processing applications for 48 page passports.  They are seeking a solution urgently.   Until a solution is in place we are unable to meet our 5 weeks processing time for 48 page passport applications.  

Alternatives available to customers are:
 
apply for a 32 page passport
apply for a 48 page passport at another passport issuing post
postpone the application until a solution is implemented.
 
This note will be removed from the website once a solution is in place.

We can issue Emergency and Temporary passports in extenuating circumstances.

Passport services at our offices

At our offices in Almaty you can:
• collect passport application forms
• pay your passport fee in person by cash in Kazakh tenge only
• submit your passport application form in person
• collect the LS01 form to report your passport lost or stolen

What to submit

To apply for a UK passport in Kazakhstan you must submit:

• your completed application form
• your 2 passport photographs
• your supporting documents
• your previous passport
• the correct fee in Kazakh tenge.

Processing your passport application

Normally it takes 5 weeks to process your passport application from the date we receive it.

Our staff will not be able to process your application or there may be a delay issuing your passport if:

• you have used the wrong form or completed it incorrectly
• you do not provide the correct fee
